My mom always said that we should eat ham, collards (or some kind of greens) and black eyed peas on New Years Day. Sorry mom, but we didn't do it this year :) We did have BLTs for lunch and there are some similarities... ham = bacon, collards = lettuce?? But, there just aren't any parallels between black eyed peas and tomatoes. oh well.
Anyways, we're having company for dinner - our friends Allen and Stephany will be here in a few minutes. Hope they aren't expecting ham, collards and black eyed peas!
Matt took the day off and we got the tree moved out of the apartment and the furniture put back into the pre-Christmas arrangement. It's weird that when the tree comes in the apartment the living room looks so crowded and full. Then I get used to it. And now, with the tree gone, it looks empty. [Well, kind of empty.... with two little girls underfoot I am constantly picking up toys and other paraphernalia.]
