pa-per-work

One of the many things on our plate this spring is dealing with paperwork.  Passports and visas and all sorts of paper-filled goodness :)

Isaac and I need passport renewals.  John Paul needs his very first U.S. passport.

The girls and Matt and Luke still have valid visas for China in their existing passports.

Isaac and I have visas that expire with our passports.  We'll re-apply, in a process that *should* go smoothly, since we'll be joining on to Matt's visa (all six of us - me and the kids - will be considered "riders" on Matt's visa, since he is the one with the foreign expert permit).

And John Paul is the most complex situation of all :)  Up til now he was a Chinese citizen and didn't need a visa to be in China.  What he needed was an immigrant visa for the U.S.  Now that he's immigrated (and we got his citizenship papers after waiting TWO months longer than we expected to wait!), he needs a U.S. passport, and a Chinese visa to go in it.

So this morning we took some passport photos for the three of us.  The boys were much more excited about posing with me or each other so we ended up with a few extraneous photos.

I can hardly believe that my Isaac is moving on to his second passport.  Five years went by pretty quickly for this boy of mine!

[And I love how John Paul uses his meek-little-brother face when he poses with Isaac.  Precious.]

Not having a passport, I hadn't realized all the DeTails. But the pictures are the best! BN
