xiao li ayi

In the six years Xiao Li worked in our home her presence was a blessing every single day she walked in the door!

For the first three years she came twice a week.  In 2007 we moved out of the city, Lydia arrived, and she started working half days at our home.  Words could never express all that she is or does for our family.

This morning Julianna drew a picture of our family.  And included Xiao Li.

We'll see her again in six months (the longest we have ever gone without seeing her).  But it will never be the same.... she stays here, and will start working for someone else.  We move on, and hope to find another ayi who will love and bless and care for us like she did.

Xiao Li, you have been so much a part of the family for six long. but also now very short, 6 years. Young mothers can never have too much help and young children (and most everyone else for that matter!) can never have too much love. Thank you, Xiao Li, for loving Laura and her family. We love you and will miss you too!

Have a safe trip! I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet xiao li but she sounds like she has become a wonderful addition to your family. Though she will no longer be with you full time how wonderful that the family will always carry fond memories of their time spent with her. What a lovely person to have the family spend so much time with!
