shopping for warmth

Yesterday we hit the sports mega-store searching for warm winter gear to send to impoverished children in rural villages in our province.

It wasn't plan A.  The original thought was that we would search through our stuff and see what 'extras' we might have to give.  But with five kids, a chilly apartment, and hard-worn winter gear.... we didn't end up with much.

And shopping was way more fun.

The big three especially understand winter in a cold classroom so they shopped according to their own "layer up" strategy.  [And this is the way through winter around here, loads and loads of clothing keeps a body warm.]

Fleece jackets and pants and hats hats hats.  Some of the hats were super cute.  I might be going back to pick a few for the heads in this family!

We had such a great time!  It was a smidge chaotic and some employee will spend a bit of extra time re-organizing the hat section (I tried my best but it's hard to keep up with that many pairs of hands and "maybe this one is better" and "has anyone seen this kind in a boy-color")

We left the store and headed straight to the drop off location, just in the nick of time to get it headed out of the city.  yay!

Fun! We had a similar experience shopping for 3 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. ~Julie
