What do I need now? Some Christmas tunes! My favorite-neighbor-who-currently-lives-12,000-miles-away, Erin Ashley, believes that its ok to start listening to Christmas music during any month ending with the three letters '-ber'. So, in that spirit I'd love to hear your Christmas music recommendations because I'm eager to invest in a few new CDs for the holidays!

I have to say that I don't like it when people "mess" with Christmas songs. So I always like tradition stuff. But I do really like Jim Brickman's Peace album. He's a fantastic pianist and I like his interpretations of the songs. I also love both Amy Grant Christmas slbums just because I grew up listening to them so they feel like "traditional" songs to me!

I have to agree with Tara. I hate it when people change Christmas songs (and the national anthem) to "make it their own." However (and don't laugh), Kenny Rogers has some great original and classic Christmas songs on his Christmas CD- "Christmas." I'll burn you a copy if you'd like and send it to your parents to bring to you. And my roommate has decided on a theme for his murder mystery birthday party- the 1920s on the Queen Elizabeth II. Should be fun! Miss and love y'all!

I love the Point of Grace Christmas albums, but I also love Lori Line's Christmas piano arrangments. They are wonderful background music for entertaining!
Have recently become obsessed with podcasts. Not sure if you're familiar but they are awesome and there are sure to be some Christmas music podcasts.

First of all, your Dad/Uncles are a long way from offering any kind of constructive advice on musical taste, they are strictly "meat and potatoes" (rare and raw at that)
The Harry Simeone Chorale has good traditional stuff that you kno and can sing along with. The Mormans and their choir and certainly Handel. My kids still like the Christmas portion of that. Forget about Elvis, 1 billion Chinese that have never heard of him can't be all bad. Have fun with your parent's visit, your Dad is excited.
